Policing teamwork sees motorbikes seized and arrests made across Swansea

Six motorbikes have been seized and seven arrests made following work by Team 2 Western Roads Policing Unit, the Drone Team, PSC and T1 JFU to tackle a range of incidents in the Swansea area.

36-year-old Matthew Davies, from Maesteg, Bridgend, has been charged with driving whilst disqualified and using a motor vehicle without third-party insurance.

Following a pursuit with a motorcycle bearing false plates in the Gorseinon area, two 14-year-old boys were arrested by officers.

Two 17-year-old boys, from Bonymaen and Plasmarl respectively, were arrested following the theft of a motorcycle in central Swansea. Both were arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle and going equipped. The stolen bike was recovered and a Sur-Ron bike seized.

A vehicle of interest to Operation Sceptre failed to stop when instructed by officers before trying to flee in Swansea city centre, reaching speeds of almost 60mph on 20mph roads. 45-year-old James Holt, from Gowerton, has since pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle dangerously, driving whilst disqualified and without third-party insurance, and driving a motor vehicle with an alcohol level above the legal limit.

Two unregistered motorcycles which failed to stop for firearms units in Pontarddulais were stung and seized.

"Working closely with our specialist teams, we remain committed to identifying offenders, disrupting criminal activity and taking dangerous vehicles off our roads.

"We will continue to act on information from our communities and take robust action against those who put others at risk."
